With grocery prices only increasing, these printable grocery list and shopping list templates are a great way to help save money and time. Going into the grocery store with a list in hand helps you buy only what you need, and avoid impulse purchases.

Some of our grocery list templates have multiple lists on a single page, so you can cut or fold them, or use them to make a shopping list for multiple stores. Some of the grocery lists are categorized, with common items listed as reminders. The PDFs are great if you want something you can quickly print. Or, use the Excel and Google Sheets templates to fully customize your lists, such as recording items you frequently purchase.

Tips for Using Grocery Lists

  • Print and Edit Throughout the Week - Keep a shopping list handy on your fridge or wherever you do your meal planning so that you can add items as you think of them.
  • Keep a Master Grocery List - Use one of the editable templates to maintain a list of your most commonly purchased groceries. Use this list while shopping to help you purchase items when they are on sale.
  • Be Prepared - It's wise to have at least one month of food available in your home, and even a 3- or 6-month supply of items that have longer shelf life. Use a master list to help you with this type of planning.
  • Use a Meal Planner - Try one of our Meal Planner templates to help you prepare your grocery lists.
  • Ask for a Store Directory - At your favorite store, go to the service desk and ask for a store directory. This can help you organize your grocery list based on aisles, or list the aisle number along with your items. (This tip was emailed to me from a site visitor).
  • Price Compare - You can maintain separate master grocery lists for different stores, or use the Price Comparison template if want to track price information for multiple stores.
