Excel 2007 Tutorial
Excel 2007 Tutorial: A Practical Guide is a collection of Excel tutorials devoted
specifically to the new Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (aka Excel 12). The purpose of these
tutorials is to learn by doing. Unlike traditional tutorials that give very detailed
step-by-step procedures, these tutorials are designed to make you think
by giving you a task to perform and pointing you to the article(s) in the Excel Help System
that will teach you what you need to know to solve the problem. Of course, I'll share some tips
and tricks along the way.

Important Before starting this tutorial, you should watch the online Excel 2007 demo,
"Up to speed with Excel 2007".

Caution
If you are familiar with Excel 97-2003, you may experience some frustration or loss of
productivity when learning to use Excel 2007. I doubt the previous versions will die anytime
soon, but resistance may be futile. :-)

Introduction
Before you begin this tutorial, you should be familiar with the Excel 2007 interface
and know how to open files, save files, etc. I would suggest taking the free online course,
"Introduction to the New Microsoft Office User Interface".
These tutorials work best if you organize the windows on your computer screen so that you can
see Excel, this tutorial, and the help window, at the same time. The image
below shows an example of how to display the windows on your screen while following
a tutorial.

Tip
If you don't have enough room on your screen to view all the windows, use the Alt+Tab keyboard shortcut to toggle between windows.
