Description: This free invoice template was derived from my original service invoice form, and is a perfect solution for a small business that bills based on both hourly and by project. The new "Taxed" column lets you easily mark whether sales tax should by applied to a particular line item. This means that you easily include charges for parts and other physical goods. (See your local and state laws to check on rules for taxation of labor and goods sold.)
3 Invoice Templates in 1: The Excel file contains 3 separate sample invoice templates (as separate worksheet tabs). They all include the same basic features and layout, but now you have a few more invoice formats to choose from, including our original Vertex42 classic design and a couple more ink-friendly forms.
Notes: The only really advanced feature of this invoice spreadsheet is the use of conditional formatting to highlight alternating rows for the different items. If you need more rows, just insert the rows below the first item or above the last item. If you do that, you should probably check the Subtotal and Taxable formulas to ensure that the summations include all the appropriate rows.

Invoice Templates for Word
A word about an invoice template for Word: Invoices involve calculations, and that's what spreadsheets are good at. If you are using a free invoice form created in Word, you should seriously consider using a spreadsheet instead. However, if all you are doing is designing an invoice form to be printed, Word is fine.
